To mark the passing of our much loved Monarch, and in a fitting tribute to the memory of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, we have planted myrtles in our four of our square containers in Dartmouth – two on the riverfront outside the Harbour Office, and two in our Community Garden. A sprig of myrtle from Osborne House was included in the Queen’s wedding bouquet, symbolising Love and Affection as well as Courage and Fidelity. As an evergreen bush, myrtle also represents Life Everlasting. Its fragrant, yet fleeting white flowers are a symbol of the fragility of life and a memory of a loved one who has passed.
