For the first time ever, DGP volunteers, entered the green spaces in the town, which they care for, into the international GREEN FLAG AWARD and were rewarded with being nationally recognised as having achieved their high standard and we are now allowed to fly the Green Flag.

It is not an easy job to achieve the standards required. A little like the Blue Flag for beaches, it shows everyone, that our care of these green spaces, is of a high standard. We fulfilled all the criteria the judging required for community gardening, such as recycling strategies, detailed maintenance plans, educational projects, community involvement and solid plans for future development.

Thanks again go to all our volunteers, supporters and sponsors, without this team effort, this award would not have happened.

Watch out for the two flags being flown on the Community Garden flagpole.
